Jewellery cleaning is simply removing dust particles and oil from jewels. Tarnish is the enemy for your jewellery but does not worry, there is a way to fight it. While goldsmiths use ultrasound cleaners and ammonia solutions, there is a simple way to remove all the darkness from the ornaments at home.
Some people boil water and add baking soda to the boil and then place their rings and earrings in the hot water. Others use a soft cloth and wipe the jewels. In the first method, you can actually see the dust particles separating from the earrings or rings. Once you see a lot of the particles, remove the trinkets and wipe it off. Leaving it in hot water for too long is not good.
How do you clean jewellery? Simple! Use a mild washing liquid and put it in warm water. Immerse the ornaments and keep it for a while. Remove and wipe it well. Ultrasound cleaning is not very complicated but the procedure cannot be done at home. The chemicals and waves form bubbles which take off all the particles and dirt from the gems, diamonds or whatever is being cleaned. The high waves pull out the contamination off from the object. The bubbles cling on to the dust and transfer to the external of the organic solution creating a boiling liquid solution.
When cleaning jewellery at home, remember that if you have any pearls, do not use other methods to clean them. Since pearls lose their lustre faster than diamonds and gemstones, it is essential to preserve them well. While cleaning them at home, lay them on a soft cloth, the cloth could be a little moist. Mix a small amount of shampoo in warm water. Take a small make-up brush which is new and unused. Damp the brush in the water and shampoo mixture and lightly clean the pearl with it. Do this step until 4 times and then use the moist cloth to wipe it off. Let it dry off before putting it inside your jewellery box.
For gemstones like turquoise, this no too much chemical method works wonders. And this shampoo plus water idea is the best to use. Whenever you plan on applying heavy duty creams to your hands, do not wear any ring. Diamond can spoil off because of the toxic chemicals. Also, oil can damage the quality of pearls and gemstones.
While cleaning diamond rings or gemstones rings, baking soda is the beneficial option. Don’t throw away the last sips of the soda; use them to sanitise the trinkets. While you are at the cleaning process, other things like silver foil, detergent, vodka ketchup, corn, hand sanitizer, lemon soda and window cleaner can be alternatives to dust away all the oils, creams and dirt on your jewel pieces. And these few remedies will not damage the ornament pieces at all. Stop giving out your jewels and start cleaning them at home with normal and basic household items. Fight the tarnish!
